Ingredients:
6 large Russet potatoes,
2 tablespoons of olive oil,
1 teaspoon of garlic powder,
1 teaspoon of paprika,
salt.
Optional: Freshly ground black pepper, chopped parsley for garnish.
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F/Gas Mark 6).
Wash and peel the potatoes. Cut them into uniform sticks or wedges.
Place the potato sticks in a large bowl of cold water and let them soak for about 30 minutes. This removes excess starch and results in crispier fries. Drain the potatoes and dry them thoroughly with paper towels. In a bowl, toss the dried potato sticks with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, and salt until well coated. Arrange the potato sticks in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure they do not overlap. Bake in a preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, turning halfway through, until the fries are golden brown and crispy. Once cooked, remove them from the oven and sprinkle with additional salt and pepper if desired. Garnish with chopped parsley for a touch of freshness. Serve hot and enjoy the irresistible crispiness of these homemade fries!
