Daniel Beretta, known for being the French voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger, has died at the age of 77. His friend Jean-Luc Reichmann paid tribute to him with a moving obituary on Instagram.

Arnold Schwarzenegger has lost his French voice. The actor, known for films such as "     Double Impact     " (1988),     "Total Recall     " (1990), "     Last Action Hero"     (1993),     "True Lies" (1994), the   " Terminator"     saga  (1984), and "The Expendables"     (2010), had his voice dubbed by     Daniel Beretta    . Beretta, 77, passed away earlier this week in Ajaccio, Corsica. His death comes just weeks after that of Alain Dorval, who provided the French voice for Sylvester Stallone. His friend Michel Vigné announced the sad news on Facebook: "    Friend, brother, buddy… Goodbye Daniel, I send you all my love    ."

Daniel Beretta also lent his voice to a character in the series     Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

Daniel Beretta wasn't just the French voice of Arnold Schwarzenegger. He also dubbed Ernie Hudson, Rutger Hauer, and Alan Rickman. He voiced Lumière in the animated film     Beauty and the Beast    (1991) and the Mayor in   The Nightmare Before  Christmas     (1993). He also made a name for himself as an actor, appearing in films such as     Wild Summer     (1970),     Dust in the Sun     (1972), Nightcrawler     (1988), and     Cyrano de Bergerac (1990), among others. Since the beginning of the American series Law & Order    : Special Victims Unit    in 1999, he has also dubbed the French actor who utters the famous scream. 

The passing of Daniel Beretta deeply affected many people, including his friend     Jean-Luc Reichmann,     who paid tribute to him on Instagram. On Saturday, March 23, 2024, shortly after the announcement of his death, the host of the game show "Les     12 Coups de Midi"   on TF1 shared a black and white photo of himself, accompanied by the following message: "    It is with immense sadness that I learned of the passing of my friend    , the actor and singer Daniel Beretta, who     lent his French voice    to Arnold Schwarzenegger    in some thirty films, at the age of 77." He added:     "My thoughts are with your daughter and your family, dear Daniel   .  "
